I worked at a Ford dealership and all of the sales people collected key fobs. When we sold a used car that only had one fob, we would go through our collections until we found a matching fob. We took the key and put it in the ignition, held the fob close and turned the key on-off-on-off a bunch of times (without turning the engin over) and clicking the fob at the same time. It usually worked. Then we had a programmed fob and a happy customer!
