We are all set for a new kitty. I may go to the pound today. I wanted to take everyone but timing with school, afterschool activities, work etc is just not making it possible....so I may jjust go today and surprise everyone.
My elderly cat is unhappy and miserable, the little kittens are hogging the bathroom and cry unless I am sitting there so they can fall asleep on me - I just tossed a polar fleece throw into the dryer so it got warm and toasty and popped in in the bathroom hoping they would snuggle up and sleep.
Hey, its friday night! where's the party? (getting out limes, tonic, and someone's elderberry wine)
It's fine. Nothing wrong with a little innocent teasing is there?
Actually growing up, I don't EVER remember my mom having any of the PMS.
Men go through hormonal changes like that too. I don't get what the big deal is, it's all natural.
My mom never had PMS either...nor menopause...it must be all that chicken we eat these days...
Lala...enjoy the kittens, babies are only babies for a little while and then they are cranky, ugly adults like the rest of us, innocence gone...ahhh, they are so fun in their innocence!
what I'm doing today is laundry: cat peeing on the bed again means down comforters, sheets, mattress pad, pillows!!! thats like 5 loads.
and trying to give the new kitties attention while ginger, my old cat, sleeps. And trying to give Ginger attention while the kittens sleep.
and trying to sweep up the kittly litter that is everywhere.
and thinking about how long it would take to drive into town for some bourbon because I am surely going to need some tonight.
just went out with some city friends to pick weeds for fall bouquets. It is gorgeous outside, sunny smells like fall, fall colors at their peak.
time to go plant garlic! I'm writing that down in hopes it will actually happen, gonna be embarassed if I don't plant it today.
no pics, I lent my camera to my daughter for her etsy shop as hers is broken.
trust me, they don't come cuter than this, and they are maybe 5 weeks - still blue-eyed.
In a few minutes the sun will hit the garden and I WILL plant the damned garlic.
Had a great party last night, good food, good company, and the night ended with a fire in the firepit, serendaded by the owls and coyotes. Lots of stars.
Woke up to a clean house (best reason to have a party), great leftovers, and homemade pumpkin bars for breakfast. yum.
Also on the hit parade today:
bake volunteer squash to see if they are edible belong in the compost heap
plant the mondarda/bee balm someone brought as a hostess gift
drive to grantsburg to get covering hay for the garlic - can't believe I have to drive somewhere to get hay!
watch the thousands of blackbirds flocking overhead
