GREAT work!!!

i loved that you said you sniffed it first.. heck we stood around, punched each other in the arm, and double dog dared each other before we tried our first.

then we were hooked.

now you just got to go and get some meaties!

before you forget - quick! whats the best advice you can get new folks? people will ask and folks reading will want to know so they can get their courage up.

:)
ps and yeah - age them in the fridge a couple days - even before you put them in the freezer for best results

Great advice!

To those who have never done the deed before I recommend that you get an "unattached" person to make them dead for you the first time. You are right under those feathers is just a chicken!

Once I could see "chicken" under the feathers, I was fine. And after all the feathers are out it's just another chicken from Walmart (except a million times better!).

Now that I have experienced it, I think I would have no problem slaughtering a chicken by myslef. I did all the butchering and me and Zach plucked her. It's just with that first one, I had to have someone there with me.
this is the best way to explain it that i've ever heard!!! great work!

i usually say that it goes from "someone you know" to "just meat" in a matter of minutes.

let make sure that AL sees this - it will help her too

yay you!!!!

I'm using a gallon pickle jar. The one I started with was brewed in a big glass mixing bowl, so it did the same thing. He'll grow a new one on top that is the size of your jar. Booger babies! :gig I slay me!

My dad had 6 gallon jars (SIX!!! With LIDS!!) stuck off in his shed. And a gallon wine jug with the little hook handle. Yeah, I snatched it up and gave it a nice new home. It was thankful.
