I think a week at home, with no visitors, or more specifically, no family visiting, is a great vacation! :lol:

I prefer my peace and quiet on a sandy beach near the aqua water with a handsome waiter bringing me drinks with umbrellas.

I always wanted to take an equestrian vacation... one I looked at was a 2 week Inn-to-Inn trail ride across Ireland... I don't really have any good friends that like riding enough to come with me.

Other than that I would love to travel to Wales and see where my dad grew up, I've never been there and never met any of the relatives left there.

I want to spend two weeks in Africa volunteering at a large cat preserve... feeding baby lions, etc.

I also want to travel around China. My old boss does this once a year... she teaches english and sex ed to older girls in orphanages so they have a better chance at a life once they have to leave the system... I'd love to do that too, and see the Great Wall, and the Terra Cotta army in Xi'an...

Those are my 4 dream vacations, but in reality my vacations would usually be a weekend camping somewhere close to home.

Where do I want to go??

Where do I NOT want to go is easier. I might turn down a ticket to Somalia. Might. Anywhere else on the planet, if it was at all safe to go there and someone offered me a ticket - I'd pack! :lol:

I love beaches. I love old places. Don't like vegas, do like lancaster PA.

I wanna go!! :weee

If there was anywhere I could go.. I would probably choose Ireland, try to find some more family history..

My family has had two actual vacations before;
A couple years ago my family and I visited my sister in Italy, then traveled through Austria and stayed at a resort in Germany. The entire trip was only a week, far too short.

Other than that we spent two weeks in Arizona visited the same sister when they were stationed there.

She lives in England now and is wanting us to visit, but I doubt that will happen.

Other than that I wouldn't mind visiting Wyoming and Montana though. I'm usually pretty content at home.

I like my front porch, but don't get me wrong,...I would LOVE to be able to go somewhere. My first pick would be Germany, then Scotland,...allright anywhere in Europe. I would love to take my children to Spain to visit their family. My DH's grandfather came here from Spain in the early 1900's and they still have a sizeable family over there. My DH's uncle goes over every year and visits with the relatives. Really I am pretty content at home and never have been much of a traveler,..but if you got me started I may never come home! ;)

I'm not sure where I would go if I had a choice. However, I don't have to dream too much, we're going on a 7 day cruise in February! I'm super excited!

I'm definately excited. The only thing is, that's a week that I don't get to see my kiddos, a week that I have to find someone else to take care of the critters (I plan to have my poultry by then too), and a week that I get to be homesick. I'm super excited, but, I'm not one to leave home for very long.
