Does anyone here grow Vates kale...? I've tried the Russian Red, and Italian dinasor kale, but the Vates is amazing..! I've been eating the Vates kale for almost two months now. This particular batch is from a planting 4 yrs ago..It survives most winters here, and reseeds itself as well.I seen the leave freeze solid, thoar(spelling) out on a warmer winters day and grow again...It's as if it has anti-freeze protection...! Even after this nasty winter that just past, the remaining stalks grew our a beautiful spring crop of kale...I've never seen any veggie like it..Its great sauted in a little olive oil and garlic or just steamed.Been feeding some to my hens, as well. It's a great crop for a winter hoop house, mulched with straw/hay...simply amazing stuff...!
