What is the temperature guidelines for tapping again? Below freezing at night, and 40's daytime? I think I am past the window of opportunity, but I have lotsa hickories!

If. Your temps are below freezing and rise above forty. You should be able to tap until late march.

Ok thanks. We had a 70 degree day today and have all this week....maybe we'll get another cold snap and te sap will run enough I can get a bit of syrup. I seriously doubt temps will be right in March though. It warms up too fast around my neck of the woods. :/ I wish it stayed cooler just a little bit longer!

You could always test tap. To see if the sap is flowing. The sap flows from rootts to limbs.

Your tree needs to be 10-12" in diameter at around your chest height, or you will damage and weaken the tree.
