My dd just got gone reading the book written by the REAL horse whisperer, Monty Roberts. It's my turn now. I have seen part of the movie.

Okay, ya'll drove me nuts this morning. Yes, I peeked at work, the breakfast talk was driving me crazy (and luckily it seems that other thread got yanked, I'm cool with that)

I am a huge Monty Roberts fan! Which book, MTN? He wrote more than one. I loved his autobiography. He is amazing. I've seen him do demonstrations in person twice, and got to speak to him. He did the demo's for charity, telling the audience that he made his money and now was giving back. :bow His work with the horses was jaw-dropping. He worked with several problem horses and did amazing things. And then worked with the owners so they could replicate it.

Because I'm such a fan of the real thing, sorry, BBuff, but I passionately-disliked-intensely that movie. Monty Roberts would never do to a horse what Robert Redford's character did, his life was spent developing methods that are not brutal, and it drove me crazy that the mom was so self-centered and she never changed. It was never about the little girl and her healing. All the grown-ups were so self-involved, they never seemed to really address the poor kid.

The cinematography was amazing, though, especially on the big screen.
