Wannabefree...guess what I got in the mail today!?!?!?!?

I only have three acres. we are already pushing it with two horses, one cow, even though she is a small bread, and two sheep. We have hummed and hawed about moving to more land, but selling our house and actaully making a profit, or even breaking even right now is not gonna happen. We are still up in the air about moving back up north, but that is all dpendend on dh getting a job up there. If we do stay here, I would like to look into buy some land from the farmer next to us, but not sure if that would be doable cost wise. I seriulsy think tohough, if I didn get more land, we would expand on the sheep, or start a CSA.

Boy do I ever know how you feel!!! 1.488 acres to be precise, and we're outgrowing it! I have wanted to move to a larger property for some time. The inlaws won't sell us any of that unused land they have :( At least they are talking about letting us use it though. I'd have a LOT more land and animals if DH could find work like he used to. But he has basically been unemployed for going on 3 years and we have been blessed to have left what we have left ;) PRAISE GOD we have been able to hang onto it! There were a few times it didn't look so good....thus the SS steps ;)

How are the goaties doing tonight?
A little less skittish of me every time I go out there. I've been out to visit at least 6 times today! They still won't come out of the coop and run  They'll come around though. When I fed them Claire got a bit closer, so they just need some time. By the end of this week they'll be eating out of my hand :)

Small 8x4 shed. Not really big enough, but will do for temporary housing. I plan on a 12x12 shed by Spring with a 4x4 corner of it for milking stall and equipment. we just tossed something together for them for right now, but they are currently in my 12x8 chicken coop with a dozen squawkin hens  I will house 2 does, and possibly a buck on down the line. The buck will get the small shed by himself or maybe with a wether for company. The does will have the big shed.
