I just got the BESTEST NEWS!!!!

My friends husband is getting out of prison!!! HALLELUJAH! I have been praying for this family for months! He was falsely charged by a dirty cop who was later charged and sent to prison himself and has been waiting for them to reopen his case. He got word today that he'll get out as soon as the papers are processed Of course that'll be in MAY...but he's coming home!!!!!!!! He has served 15 years

BUT, that's a long time for a crime not committed. I hope he comes out with a proper frame of mind.

Mr. Mendez was in for a while before Mr. Dirty Dog Cop got busted 3 years ago. It has taken this long for them to sort through and get to his case. It was a self defense case actually but the cop botched the report. Eye witnesses said that Mr. Mendez was in the process of being carjacked when he tried to take the weapon away from his assailant it went off into the mans abdomen and killed him. Cops arriving on the scene saw Mr. Mendez with the weapon and shot him 5 times. He survived, but it cost him part of his life anyway as the cop who fired first made a mad dash to cover his own butt in court. LOTS of confusion :/ Wound up with Mr. Mendez being charged with 1st degree murder. Mendez has served as a member of our armed forces in the Middle East and left a wife and 5 children without a father figure for 15 years. Nothing will bring justice, but maybe they can have some peace now. I LOVE this family, and have tried to help as much as possible when I could. They are some wonderful people. I am THRILLED to see him coming home!!!!!!!!!!! He's a smart guy Jamie, no worries about him being corrupt
