What the crud goes through their heads?! If I would have talked to either of my parents like that I'd have gotten a close up of the back of their hand...AND DESERVED IT! It's a CPS thing. You discipline your child, and you have to worry about someone calling the authorities on you for child abuse.

You're telling me. 
Not too long ago, one of the kids talked back and I said "back in the day" that would have happened. His response - go ahead an try I'll just call the police. I asked him where he got that from - " school" of course.
I handed him a paper grocery bag and told him to go get what he wanted wanted from his room, and explained to him how the police call CPS and what he could expect.
I also explained to me I could call the police and say he was out of control and for him the result would be the same.
I truly do
my kids and wouldn't want that to happen.
