If it grow ANYTHING like it does HERE....just about 10 plants should be enough to get a good bit of okra. We're going to be overloaded
It freezes well. Frozen isn't the best for fried okra, but it goes well in veggie soup.
I fry frozen and it's GREAT ;) Just when you chop it to freeze, use a cookie sheet and do one layer, then pop it into ziploc bags. It shouldn't stick together so when you get ready to fry it, there it be :D Occassionally I do get a clump formed in the bottom, but I save that for soups instead of freezing any intentionally for soups. DH would DIE, we're talking curl up and croak, if he couldn't have fried okra at least 10 times in the winter  I think it's the only way he survives till the next crop!
Do you coat in cornmeal before frying? My mother did try coating with cornmeal before freezing and it worked okay, but there was a lot of ice in there that splattered in the frying pan.

No, I just chop and freeze, as I said spread out on a cookie sheet till firm, then pop into ziplocs. I coat it when I take it out of the freezer, just as I am getting the grease hot, so that it doesn't have time to thaw into a mushy mess. It cooks up fine.

That's how I freeze fruits and veggies too. That way they don't clump together :D
