Time to hit the hay. I have some thinking to do before bed, just had a moment of clarity
They will fit in the canner, well, about 3 of them at once. I was thinking about chicken stock next week after processing, since we normally use two quart jars at a time when cooking.Wannabefree said:I suppose you could, but you'd have to have a rather large canner. I use mine for storage only.FarmerJamie said:Serious question - other using them for dry goods, you ever can with a 1/2 gallon canning jar? I'm seeing a lot for sale lately and wondering if I'm missing something.
If they'll fit, why not. I am sure folks used to can in them. If you had to can for a family of nine or so, you'd definately have use for half gallon jars. I just don't except for storage at this time.FarmerJamie said:They will fit in the canner, well, about 3 of them at once.
