I hope you are having a good church service!!
We had a great meal and service! Our church is starting a church plant with the help of some other local churches to minister to the needs of our local hispanic community and we voted on what all to provide them with. It is amazing what God is doing in our community!!!! :woot We also talked about our building fund, and how we need more space. Our fellowship hall is being outgrown rather rapidly. Just since we have started back to church 2 and a half years ago, we've nearly doubled in attendance. We had our record number in Sunday School last week and we just had to build another parking lot on the other side of the building. We are growing so fast it'll make your head spin. It kind of concerns me though. I don't want us to get too big and folks start to get an attitude and start stirring trouble as is the problem with a lot of bigger churches in our community and others. Right now, everyone knows everyone and is comfortable around each other and there is no gossiping. Don't get me wrong, we welcome new folks with open arms, but hopefully it'll be slow growth so we can get to know everyone as we grow, rather than getting several families in at one time. OH sheesh...listen to me ramble  The hispanic church plant...they had their first unofficial meeting last Thursday(?), and the pastor and Sabas(our only hispanic member) were expecting a handful of folks to turn out that Sabas had invited...SUPRISE TWENTY ONE people  They met at Sabas' home for a meal and bible study, and they were overflowing :woot bet his wife loved that :D It is awesome but I can only imagine her response to a packed home. She's awesome though. if anyone can handle it she can! :) They already have a pastor lined up as well. Our folks we sponsored in Ecudaor have been led to move back stateside due to unforseen issues ;) They were in town when pastor called them to ask if they'd be interested. AMAZING! They tearfully accepted. SO SWEET! anyway, looks like God is moving to see to our hispanic community through our little church. What a blessing?! Never ceases to amaze me how God can work through one person to make such a huge difference to a community. Our church is one of the smallest in the county, and God chose us...it just warms my heart to be a small part of all of it. It was a great night at church!!! WOOOOOHOOOO GOD!!!!!!!!!!

DD got a spanking when we got home though  That was rather awful. She embarassed the crud outta me at church, not once, but TWICE. AFTER being warned about her mouthiness. I hated to spank her, but she asked for it big time. She's been warned about popping off, and this time, she did it amongst our church family which was SOOOOOOO embarassing. The first time sister M. was standing there and it shocked her what was said and HOW it was said. I warned her to watch how she talks to me. The second time, she yelled at me in the parking lot. :barnie I. was. fuming. So I told her she better get in the car...and PRAY  So she got three licks when we got home. Maybe she'll quit being a mouthy brat. I have grounded her, took stuff away, and done everything I know to do to keep from using spanking, but she just keeps going. I really hate that :/ I dislike being forced into the last resort. As I said before I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE THREE MORE!!!!!!! :th

Ya'll KNOW I'll be crazy in no time, right?! :p

Isn't it amazing what God is doing! He is working in our church too! Ours only has 20 something members I think, but His presence there is awesome! I'll pray for your relationship with DD.

I love to see what He does in the small churches. Seven years ago, our church had 6 in regular attendance. ;) Today we run about 75 regularly, around 125-150 usually on Sunday mornings. If His presence there is awesome, you guys better be paying attention for opportunities to serve the community :D There is something about the community here that God is moving toward and pushing us all out of our comfort zones to reach the local people of every background. Just stay open to possibilities as a church body and be obedient! It truly does amaze me the things that are going on within our church. We have SO many ministries going I can hardly keep up these days  It is beautiful though, and I don't have to keep up, because the rest of the family is taking care of things too. We all work together so well, I absolutely love it! I hope your local church grows and is blessed as much as ours has been in our community. It's encouraging to hear and see God's work all over the world :)

I have court today over custody of my niece, just as an advocate, but still have been requested to be there. Ugh...it's going to be tough. Our family dynamic is SOOOOO twisted. I got custody of this childs mother because of abusive parents. Now she is in that household and they are fighting the mother, now SHE is emotionally abusive, and not fit to parent my niece due to her own issues. I don't want to have to say anything, because I WILL be truthful, and I honestly do not think either of them should get custody :hide They play too many games and say to much to her, and I know it isn't good for her to hear certain opinions and such. *sigh* I have thought about it all week, and have come to the conclusion that IF I am asked my opinion, I should say that none of them should have custody without having completed parenting classes and counselling. That's gonna go over like a lead balloon  But...it's the truth, and this is about what's best for my niece, NOT my parents or my sister. D I F F I C U L T situation folks....pray for me to have the words that will not only do what needs doing, but to keep the peace, and have the least hurt feelings. My parent who was abusive is just ignorant for the most part, and at the time he was alcoholic and a very very viciously mean drunk. He's pushing 70 now though, and has calmed down some, and no longer drinks. He is really the lesser of the two evils in this situation because he has my sweet little even tempered mother as a buffer :hu Besides, just because I have a bad relationship with him doesn't mean niecey should. He is the only Papaw she has got, and I don't want that taken from her. I never had a Grandpa, and I think I missed out on some things due to that. I am TRYING to NOT let MY emotions/opinions interfere here. Know what I mean? So, prayers please.

Wow. Sometimes I wonder how you keep it all together!??? I will definitely send up a prayer for you today, for strength and comforting words. Take a deep breath...say a silent prayer before you speak. Sometimes personal emotions can get to us. Be strong.....we are all here for ya girl!

Hi! I'm new to this whole journal thing. Wanted to say hello. And, I am so very sorry to hear about your court situation. That must feel awful. I am a "peacekeeper" in my family and I have a need to be liked. So, a situation like that would be horrifying for me. Usually in situations like that it is helpful for me to remember I am not in control. I can only control myself.
Remember God. Breath deeply. Think fast and talk very slowly.
I just said a prayer for you. Good luck.
