SHOOOOO!!!!!! FINALLY got Trucky home!! Had to charge her up twice to get her the 4 miles to the house. Alternator is very definately kaput. It took about an hour, but we did it. It is soooooo nerve wracking when the electrical suddenly stops in your vehicle! We live on a very curvy road, with no shoulder to pull off on, and it was not fun. I first landed in someones yard when she quit Then I almost lost it again around the near circle curve right before you get to my house. I made it though and praised the Lord for no more trouble than I had with it!! It truly should not have made it as far as it did on that second charge, but the oil wasn't s'posed to last 8 days either I'm just glad we got that part of the deal over. My nerves are shot!
I did it. I sold my kids Skylar and Anna got a new home today, and I have a bit of cash to fix Trucky. It just happened that way I am pleased with the new home they will have. The guy already has goats, and asked the proper health questions so I am very comfortable knowing they're going to a nice place. He has electric fencing which they aren't used to, but then they are only 5 weeks old so they don't really have a clue yet anyway. He may come back for the others later, he couldn't make up his mind, but I told him they'd be here if nobody else wants them and he can have them for the previously quoted price. I do have a few more folks interested in them though, so who knows Boy do they ever have a set of lungs though I think I'm near deaf in my left ear now...I pulled them off Momma, and they very vocally let me know they didn't care for my idea. They got quiet once they were back together though. Poor babies. I'll miss their antics, but glad for them to move forward in their little lives to a bigger farm.
On the bright side I am actually having a good day in spite of the icky To Do list and the freezing cold drizzle that we have had to be out in to get it done. I'm about to get a bite of lunch and see about removing the dead alternator and getting it down south to my buddy to rebuild.
I hope everyone else is having a wonderful day too!
