Friday should be good IF he's still here. I want to keep him so bad, but he kept me up half the night, and DH got REALLY mad because he woke him too Plus, I think I could have him sold by this afternoon if the lady wants him...he may be going to a new home. We'll see.
I woke up with the hiccups I think I overdid it yesterday with my back, with the very LITTLE I actually did, because it's stiff again too. I think I need a new body
Either way...I am hoping to get that sow caught today, and get her off to the sausage factory by this afternoon, and hopefully deliver the piglets(selling a female too) to the lady my friend knows that raises them. THEN complete preparations for the other sow to farrow. She's due any day now. And next week that stankin hog is going to the butcher if I have to carve him up myself with this bad back. He is a pain in my butt, and eatting like he's starving every day I'm so ready for pork chops....just need to get my ducks in a row. Speaking of ducks, there is gonna be some slaughtered or sold ducks as well. We got too many, and the Mallards are LOUD! Time for them to go, time to downsize for the winter here. If that means the freezer or money in the bank, either way, it's time to clear out some of the barnyard. I have too many birds once again, and too many chickens once again, and WAYYYYY to many piggies right now!!
Sounds like my house - except I don't have ducks. What I do have is about 10 extra roos that need to go in the freezer or more likely get canned up as broth. Only scary part is that they're all rare breed Roos (Silver Gray and Red Dorkings) and you know what'll happen if I butcher the extras? Sure enough somethng will happen to the one's I'm keeping and I'll end up roo-less! I'm trying to keep at least two of each breed as insurance - but Murphy lives at my house and his law happens waaaaay too often!
Just make sure you have an incubator on hand to hatch out more if necessary! I know you'll have to wait 6 months, but nearly two of those months the hens should still be fertile from the old roos.
I caught the sow! AND I got a guy coming to get her, and the baby, and another of the girls, and I should be down from 6 pigs to 3 by the afternoon, maybe two, I keep flip flopping on whether to keep one of the female piglets Anyway, IT IS DONE
I swept the house while ago, straightened up a bit in the kitchen, and went out and started a burn pile. Then I planted turnip greens, cleared off a 1/2 acre by hand, cleaned up some in the pea patch, and I did something else, but I can't remember. My back is killin meh!! But, I got some chores did
When my buddy gets here I'll have to load pigs, so I'm taking a break for a few and having a cold soda
Oh yeah, and I straightened the garage, and cleaned the front yard.
I'm about to start a load of scrap. I can't sit still...maybe it's the caffeine that I haven't had in over a year(coulda be a mistake), but I can't just sit here.....gotta find something to do. Then I gotta shower and get ready for church, oh, and cook, and eat something. I'm thinking leftover pizza. That's pizza with all the leftovers from the fridge as toppings
I did manage to get a load of scrap ready for in the morning, got the piggie loaded and gone, sold a few things I had lying around collecting dust, and cooked supper just in time for getting my bootay to church. I picked up two neighbors and took them with me and set a date to ride Saturday morning if I'm not doing anything else. AND......and I don't think I missed anything.
