I think overwinter ripening then drying wouldn't yield anything good, looks like its gonna be some months out...

This spot is about a mile down the road from me, Redtail hawks have a nest in the tree but there are five large bushes on this side and another five on the other. I wonder if these wild hips will have the flavor you want, some folks are reporting less than good results with wild hips.

I guess there's only one way to find out. I have lots of honey and other things to put with them. As long as they aren't bitter I would think it would be ok.

Ohhh..... I wish I could get some! I'd still be happy to pay or trade for whatever quantity of rose hips anyone can come up with!
