Recently, i have started holding water in my feet. I am certain it is hormone related because of other things that started happening at the same time (i'll spare you the details). But the puffy feet are driving me nuts.

Does anyone have a natural remedy i can use easily?

I've tried the acv in water and couldn't bear it. I took one little sip and though i was going to throw up. So i don't really want to try that one again. But any other ideas are welcome.

I'm not sure what your age is as to why it's hormone related, although personally I think just about everything is hormone related *damn hormones* :somad.

But you could try drinking lots more water to help flush it out, you can also get an oedema massage.

Keep your feet elevated as often as possible too.

Parsley and dandelion are both diuretic. See if you can get more of both into your diet.

IF I was going to take ACV, I'd just do it like a shot and make sure I had some kind of backer ready.

Lovechooks' idea about drinking more water is probably what I'd do. Everytime I retained water when pregnant, that'd be the "cure".

If it is hormone related and it is developing into a persistent condition you might want to get your hormones checked.

For me changes in the barometer can cause swelling along with hot weather. But it is always temporary, lasting from hours to a couple of days, and is relieved by elevation of the feet.

Many things can cause edema to the feet including heart disease, poor circulation, especially in the lower pelvic vessels, either vascular or lymphatic.

dandelion - what part do i eat, and how do i clean it? there shouldn't be any pesticides or anything in our yard, so i should be able to just pick one, right?

edited for punctuation and to add that i've tried drinking lots of water and putting my feet up in combination with eating as little salt as possible, and i get only a little relief. the biggest relief i've noticed is when i mow the lawn, which is what i'm doing today, but i'm going to run out of lawn soon. :)

Walking would be my first choice but I also found a little interesting side effect to taking carrot tablets. If you take them on an empty stomach in the morning with a goodly portion of water, by noon you will have peed yourself silly and any edema you may be holding is worked right out. :)

i have never even heard of a carrot tablet. what did you mean to be taking it for? :)

There is your answer, it sounds like.....walking!
i know you're right, but i just hate useless exercise....let me clarify. i want to be accomplishing something besides the exercise. i was thinking just now about trying to give myself a daily regimen of yard work. raking and what-not isn't as "walky" as mowing, which i totally enjoy, but maybe it would do the trick enough to ward off this crazy new puffiness, if i did a little bit every morning. the other trick is that it has gotten so hot here in Texas that you have to get it done before like 9:30 or you're risking your health by being outside very long. and even then, you really need to take frequent breaks (or i do at least) to stay hydrated. when i'm mowing, i get into it, and if i don't make myself take breaks, i make myself sick.

o.k. enough rambling.

thanks for your help. and i still want to know what carrot tablets are for and how to eat a dandelion. :)

i have never EVER retained water in my life, so this is pretty weird for me.

Have you ever heard of T-Tapp? It's an exercise program developed by Teresa Tapp and it does wonderful things for the body, especially getting that lymph flowing and helping with swelling, getting your body into alignment and so much more. There is a routine that can be done in about 15 minutes and it is wonderful. It can help with female troubles, but it's really great for everybody, my DH does it too. They have a wonderful, informative forum too. Check out the website - there are some try before you buy exercises that are great, especially the hoe downs for swelling its - T-Tapp.com It's all about working smarter, not longer. I could go on and on, but the website is so much better.

You could also try dry brushing. There is info at T-Tapp and here is some info from the Herbal Legacy newsletter this week:

# * Continue brushing up your legs.

# * Brush upwards on the back and down from the neck. Better yet, have a friend, spouse or family member brush your back.
