Horrible pics of those building, hopefully they have insurance to fix up the buildings after the spring thaw.

I worked on my chicken coop today. Sealed up some of the bigger holes, put in a 250 watt heat lamp in and made sure I could close their door to the yard. It's 33 degrees outside but with the north wind I would say it's down the lower 20's. I just wanted to do something to keep my southern chickens from freezing during the up coming vortex. They are calling for -8 below zero tuseday overnight, but I hope they are guessing wrong.

My chickens should be comfortable and not freeze in their coop now with a 250 watt heat lamp. I plan on letting them out in the mornings this week for water. But I suspect they will want to stay in their coop. They don't like snow at all.

That fair ground looks crazy :ep I hope they will be able to salvage the buildings.

The hens look cozy enough in that coop! :) I won't want to leave that either if it's snowy outside. Mine doesn't like snow and rain, but they learned to live with it, or they'll be cooped up much of the time.

It's been crazy around here. I'm almost out of firewood. There's so much I could get-if it would ever stop raining! But, the days that it's dry enough to get it have been few and far between. We're supposed to get rain on Tuesday, then it's supposed to get cold. Saturday isn't a bad day, so I plan on getting at least a truck load of it. If I don't get it all cut up, I may just put it on a pallet and cover it w/tarps. (I've found that doubling the tarps keeps it dryer.) Next week they're calling for rain, rain and more rain. But, at least it's not all snow.

My birds go out unless we're having a blizzard. The temp in the sunroom will at least get up to mid 20's even when outdoor temps are single digits.

They're calling for 6-10" tomorrow night through Wednesday. Ugh
