A couple of my favorite wedding gifts were picture frames.one had our names and the date ingraved, but my fave is a glass, heart shaped one that probably cost $20.
21 years later....they sit in a prominent location where we see them every single day :)

Oh, picture frames are a wonderful idea. That does tend to be something that lasts and is always in front of them. :)

Oh, and LOL forgot to say good luck! I will post pics if I do the cables though. I'm thinking seriously of it. I have a bunch of pillar candles I could use. I'm thinking of silk flower petals instead of paper for decoration though. Unless I have some pretty napkins or something that will go on them I don't think I have a paper design. Of course, I could print something but my printer is inkjet and I'm thinking that won't work. Probably it would smear. But the idea is still the same if I use flower petals. Also these candles are blue, and I've always used white before, so I dunno which color I'd use to coat them. It's all stuff I have around though, so experimenting is no big deal. :)

I always give cash for a wedding gift. One size fits all.
I would, but everybody else has their hand out for all of that right now  They could get a burger on their honeymoon with what I could give

I know whatcha mean! I guess that's why I'm usually scrambling for something nice, that I can DO for them that someone else can't.

Course I guess you know some folks are snobbish about gifts like that too ... Sigh.

She is in no position to be snobby to me...I have OH SO MANY stories I could tell her new hubby if it gets ugly   :gig Did I mention we were wild children? Best she remembers to not embarass me...or ELSE ;)

Seriously, I think she'll like it :)

Give her a set of sheets with roses on them. Write "May your life together always be a bed of roses." :) That's what someone did for my mom's wedding and I think it's really cool (and cheesy). :p
