You could say I rescued some goat kids this week, sort of. Maybe :p
They are the result of breeding dairy goats for milk. The dairy keeps some of the kids, but they need to get rid of many extras. If they cannot sell them to people like me, or give them to a lady who raises bottle babies and then sells them in her area (about 3 hours from here), The dairy farm has to take them to auction. The lady told me that she hates doing that, because she worries that the kids won't be cared for properly.
So I kind of sort of saved my two kids from the posibility of having to go to auction and ending up with a careless person. :p

That seems like a good way to acquire goats!

Well, as most of you know....last week, I took in, to foster, 3 Lamancha Wethers...and a pair of Pygmy goats. The Lamanchas were found running the streets of INDY. No one claimed them so they called a rescue, who called me to foster them. The Pygmys, also found running loose...the owner didnt want to pay the fines..so they are mine. :)
