I think you two are going to have to agree to disagree.
No problem! This is a topic I feel very strongly about having seen the devastating effects. My comments are done and I apologize for bringing this to the point that you needed to step in. :hugs

I'm not canning now -- garden is over -- I don't hunt. BUT I still hope to get some roos on the chopping block in a day or two. Will see how that goes or what may need my attention more. :D

This is more the seal the doors, load the hay, check the water lines, winterize equipment time of year. :old Oh, it is also the "seed porn" magazine time. :clap I REALLY want a little more garden this year.

I did can some goat milk a while back. Tried it this weekend and it's just fine in coffee! I'll do more next time I'm milking because I use a lot of milk in my coffee and that'll keep the freezer from filling up with all that milk!

Is making freezer jam canning? If so, I made 11 half pints of strawberry jam today. I am usually anti-freezing, but I LOVE strawberry freezer jam and for the first time in memory--- I am out of canning lids. I buy them in bulk and am out of regular mouth lids.

Canning some green beans and some fire jam from my hot banana peppers. Hope to get more of those later and make more of the same.

Peach butter & nectarine preserves this past week or so. More peaches to get cooked up. Dehydrated figs & apricots just before the peaches.

This time I am SURE I have lids. and enough small jars as I like jams/jellies, etc. in the 1/2 pints. Works better for just one person. I'm hoping for some blueberries next week. Would like a couple jars of those for jam.

Plan to mow & till garden tomorrow. Off work & good weather. First time in 6 weeks we've had a weekend with no rain.

Hi folks! Life has been crazy, but Granny and I have been busy canning, pickling and freezing. Canned several quarts of green beans (and hope to do more when my bush beans bare). Got some really good peaches and canned several quarts. Granny and Mom made several pints and quarts of pickles from the cucumber crop. I have canned and froze sweet corn. Then I have canned several pints of pork shoulder. I have chicken to can, and hopefully more corn tomorrow. Had enough tomatoes for a few batches of tomato sauce and tomatoes.

Hopefully, I will have some apples, squash, corn, and green beans to can up in the next month or so.
