Thanks. I appreciate all the “go you!” responses. Most people I know would just think it too bad I didn’t “relax” instead. I can’t start to explain how relaxed doing that made me, especially followed by “well-deserved” (key word) hot tub soak. On to the rehabbed pantry next to this to paint doors and add a chain across pantry doors in case of earthquake - I have another vacation in December 🧹🔗

A quick idea to help with quake-proofing.... I use old socks, orphan socks, that sort of thing, as a padded sleeve over my glass jars so that they won't knock against each other in a shaker. I can't guarantee it will stop everything as we have only had a little tremor since I started doing this... but they were fine during that.

slipping socks over them would also prevent temp changes. Do any of you find your lids plinking when temp changes in your canned goods storage room?
