I'm "uncanning"

Have a pot of chili going but not to can...eat & freezer fill. BUT I am using canned tomatoes, beans, dehydrated tomatoes & peppers. Geesh, 2020 had me busy with garden, canning & drying -- those masked & 6' apart days... using up the few things still stocked to have room for 2025. It's still all in perfect shape. Besides, winter is why I canned it and when I enforce my "no or minimal" spend cap. Retrain yourself to use not buy. :old

The challenge isn't canning, it's using!

I kind of cheated on the head space, so I guess I’ll see in the morning whether they all ping. The water in the canner is decidedly orange!

I have to check into the warranty on mine because the nonstick coating inside the pot is all bubbly and rough up to where the water line goes. Above that is fine.

I will now start keeping an eye on my metal wheel spoke part.
As soon as Christmas was over I contacted Presto, and it was a good thing because I hadn’t realized how early in January last year I had bought it. So I squeaked in just before the warranty expired. They sent me out a new pot right away. They did have a few questions for me to answer about how I use it, for their team’s reference.

I think they possibly have changed their nonstick coating. Because my old one looks like a charcoal color but the new one looks blacker. (New one is on the left.)

Another's positive with can vs freezer....open jar & heat, no defrost time!! :old

we get it out the day before and pop it in the fridge after it sits out a bit. i would prefer not to leave it sit out at all, but someone is stuck in her ways and doesn't often budge too far...
