I am liking the clover.

I have purchased pea sprouts at a local asian store. I LOVE those. I will buy some actual sprouting seeds and try those at home now.

Yeah, alfalfa is all I used to sprout, but after reading that, I don't anymore. Rats. :/ I loved them.
Free, I stopped with the alfalfa sprouts as well after reading NT, but I find that the clover sprouts are very similar. And don't overlook broccoli sprouts; they are full of all the good brassica health giving benifits.

I despise broccoli....are they milder in flavor?

I love radish and sunflower sprouts!

I have heard good and bad about sprouting the alfalfa. I love the mung beans. I have several other types that came in my variety pack. I guess I should be more adventurous.

I spoke to a LDS lady once who was telling me about corn sprouts. She said her kids loved them because they were so sweet. I need to give those a try.

Making another batch of radish and clover sprouts. These are great in a cucumber salad. I am also trying cress for the first time. They get rather jello-ish...like chia seeds in water. Not sure if those will turn out.

I just saw in my Pinetree Garden Seeds catalog that they selling sprouting seeds 3-4oz for $1.95. I've never sprouted before but would like to. Can anyone help with guidelines as to what the yield is? Also, is that a good price or are there better places to buy it? I'm putting in a seed order in a few days so thought I'd run this idea by y'all first.

I ordered my daikon and cress seeds from here...

http://www.sprouthouse.com/Organic_Sprouting_Seeds_s/1.htm

The best way to compare costs is to break down to a per ounce or per pound price.

At $1.95/4oz that is about $7.80/lb. Not terrible. What is the shipping?

I never did get the cress to sprout well, but I took the seeds out of the sprouter and put them in some potting soil under a light. I have a WHOLE BUNCH of cress plants growing now. I will just use the seeds for growing plants instead of sprouting so no problem there.

I've thought about this for the critters. What are some cheap ones that I can do for rabbits and quail? Also, where can I get them? Can you buy grains and such at Wal-mart and just soak them?
