We got 2.75" of rain yesterday! And this is my forecast. I want to cry! I might melt! View attachment 7792 I know it's not that hot for some of you but this is brutal for us. High humidity too.

Have you tried drinking a little bit of Apple cider vinegar (Bragg's organic) every day? It doesn't take much... Just a capful mixed in with food or drink every day. But it takes a couple of weeks for it to start working. Great for body temperature regulation both winter and summer. I personally think that's why a lot of southern meals include vinegar as an ingredient - but I dont have any proof of that, other than suspicion...

Also I know it sounds crazy but a hot shower also works when it's hot outside. When you get out your cool as a cucumber...

Good luck with the heat.

This morning, we staked, and weeded the tomato patch. I also did the last of the replants with my free plants. These were some that I didn't get done before the rain. Mom also got the onions weeded well.

I got a good part of the tomatoes mulched and then I quit for the morning. It got too hot out, and the sweat was getting in my eyes. I should really work with goggles. I pour the sweat. I usually look I got out of a rain storm.

The garden is doing well. The tomatoes were a little out of sorts after they got staked. They had started vining on the ground. If we can dry out a little more to till the corn patch. I think this garden will be okay.

+1 x 100 I hayed in the turkeys this morning in the shade and I am drenched head to toe :(. I still have to 960lbs of play sand into my grand daughters sand box 60 lbs at a time. I've had the sand in the back of my pickup since last weekend because it was to wet to drive down to the sandbox.

Thanks that's very helpful indeed. I couldn't help but notice that the magnesium and nitrogen leaves look the same. You need to read the deficiency descriptions to determine which it is. I seem to think this is why a lot of people say give them Epsom salt when it's really a nitrogen deficiency that's the problem. Both my gardens are low on nitrogen I had the soil tested several years ago. I was told just about all soil in my area is nitrogen deficient. So I've been working to amend the gardens over the years but with all the rain we had... I would say nitrogen uptake is very low right now.

Picked raspberries, pak choi, napa cabbage, romaine, sugar snap peas and green onions.

Sumi, here's a pic of my pumpkins so far...this is just two plants, but they are taking over the garden. By the end of the season these will have spread to nearly every corner of the garden, though I've been trying to train them off the fences and trellises.
