Crealbilly I think mine is Clemson too. If you want long tended pods that produce like crazy and are early try to find an old fashioned cowhorn okra. That stuff can be a foot long and just as tender as a 3 inch pod of Clemson.

Thanks for that - been search for the ideal Okra for a long time.

I expecially like the fact that cow horn okra is open pollinated / heirloom.

I try and grow only open pollianted, except for Honey -n Pearl sweet corn because everyone loves it, including me
I will not ever grow GMO though.

Open pollianted or heirloom means
I can save seeds to grow the next year. And "tweak" future generations buy saving seeds from the plant that has the most characteristics that I like best.

Picked peaches - bugs got most of them but is a small price to pay for not eating chemical sprayed peaches.

Got stunk by red wasp. I hate wasps Grrrr... Now my whole hand is itching. I'll take some later... Got to much to do to be tired from benadryl right now.

Nothing yesterday, we had a flood of rain on Monday so everything is still pretty soaked through. Which is alright, I had planted a bunch of neglected sunflowers about the property on Saturday so hopefully they'll make it
I actually have fruit growing! Little green tomatoes and peppers, and pie pumpkins.
And it's been a salad every night lately

I got hit by yellow jackets a couple days ago....they got me on the hand and the forearm. Swelled up all across my knuckle and had trouble typing! That's taking it a little too far interfering with my ability to communicate, lol! Never did get around to the Benadryl and it was down the next day.

DD and I ripped up the pea plants so we can plant some kale there. Never planted kale this spring so it'll be a fall crop. Not that we can do much for fall crops here! I'll plant more carrots and beets too. That'll likely be it, I'm afraid. No energy to order more seeds or try much new. We have a barn to build instead!

Next year I'm going to try for a smaller, more easily managed garden.

Picked a few tomatoes also. 2 1/2 rows picked 3 1/2 to go.

Wife has got salsa cooking - I enjoy the smell of tomatoes cooking. Someone should figure out how to capture that smell and sell it as air freshener. Call it Country Kitchen

Wasp done messed up my hand - itches like the Dickens. Swollen up tight, can't open my hand up now. Simply amazing what a lil wasp can do. Had to drive into town for benadryl. Should be better in a few days. My right hand has been giving me troubles for over a year now. Maybe this is the cure I need? Who knows? God works in mysterious ways.

Very hot again in Southern IL today - Gotta jump in the shower before the wife throws me out of the house.
