@Trying2keepitReal is cabbage the same way? Just want to grow it for the chickens. I do not eat that either lol
Nice one I've not ever been successful growing califlower. Every year it gets to hot to fast and they bolt. If you don't mind me asking... What zone are you in and what is the variety?
Not from my understanding, though I don't grow it as I don't ever seem to get a head to form or grow. @CrealCritter will be able to shed some more light on cabbage, his is AMAZING@Trying2keepitReal is cabbage the same way? Just want to grow it for the chickens. I do not eat that either lol
I eat it raw. It is closer to cabbage. I have never noticed a burning plastic smell with broccoli.D
Does cauliflower smells like burning plastic like broccoli does? Is it bitter or sweet?
Zone is a very cold 4 but probably closer to 3. The zone charts I have seen are typically off by at least one full zone warmer than most areas actually are. I don't know the variety as it was a 6 pack I picked up back in March in Walmart.Nice one I've not ever been successful growing califlower. Every year it gets to hot to fast and they bolt. Long cool days up there in zone 3 or 4Zone is a very cold 4 but probably closer to 3. The zone charts I have seen are typically off by at least one full zone warmer than most areas actually are. I don't know the variety as it was a 6 pack I picked up back in March in Walmart.

It is neither bitter or sweet to me.
I should eat more cauliflower instead of those starches, but I can't stand it. Okay raw or the whole roasted head thingieRaw is the only way I can eat cauliflower. I like it just fine raw. I absolutely hate the taste of cooked cauliflower. That means I avoid all the stuff in the stores that use cauliflower in place of rice, potatoes, and bread.
