What did you do in your garden today?

I found sprinkling Epsom salts around the tomatoes stopped the blossom end rot

interesting, but be aware that while it might be ok for tomatoes or peppers it can have adverse effects on other garden plants (if you use too much). for example beans don't seem to like it (i've not used it much at all here).

Ah... that I wouldn't know... I never grow beans... too cold here for beans.

I need to read all from the beginning, lol You all are amazing. Went to bed late because called my sister in PR. She is not a veterinarian but an internal medical doctor. She had me open her eye as much as possible to make sure there was no rupture of anything. Then she knows what they mean to me and began praying and I too over my P2. Took her back around midnight. Could not sleep praying all night. Hub saw me up with my Bible around 3am. Finally around 5am I went to bed. God makes wonders and miracles every day, that is His expertise. Got up at 847am, P2 has here eye open, laid her big white egg and is around fine. Roo is out of jail but separated from everyone, even his sebrights. All are together in the run.

Well, did watered a lot last night and this morning, trimmed the tomatoes. Next year they will be 4 ft apart,lol Barely had room. Did the Epsom salt. I also noticed Broccoli, lol Three plants have the flower-thingy,




During the night, I separated lots of peppers' seeds and cilantro seeds for next season,YEY! The peppers' seeds are drying out on a towel since last night.

I picked green beans....plants still flowering so it looks like more canning to do soon.

Picked some onions, did a little weeding and some watering. Turned the soil in a couple areas to get ready for fall lettuce and carrots.

if the cilantro seeds are recently picked you may wish to make sure they are super dry before sealing them in a plastic bag. oftentimes it is good to let them dry for weeks or perhaps even months before sealing them up.

i'm not sure in this specific case but i wanted to say something before there was a chance of mold forming and ruining your seeds. anyone else with cilantro experience can speak up and i'll surely defer to them on this.

I think the brussels and cabbage are going to survive transplanting. Had a little rain today, didn't amount much of anything.

Bell peppers are easy to give away. We've got what we need for the year. I gave my neighbor a shopping bag. Still more time to pick and give away more before frost.

This is my one of my other neighbors porch, she got 1/2 flat of cabbage and brussel starts. Free is an easy sell

@flowerbug they were super dry on the plants outside vefore I got them. However, I opened the bag and poured them on a towel in the office. Thank you.

I was looking at that first lettuce, the flowers come but cannot see the seeds. Am I missing something?

@CrealCritter I have no clue if they are heirloom or not. This is a picture of them this evening. Since you said that they might come back, I keep watering them. One is completely dried and the one that I cut the head off to give it to the ducks, it grew back up a double thingy. The flowers they come and go but never seen them dry or brown. They stay green, the flower is yellow and goes back to green.

Do you recall the name of the variety? So the yellow flowers have not opened yet?
