I feel for you fighting that pasture grass @Mini Horses ! It's hard with so much rain this year! 9 days of rain in my forecast. Struggling to stay ahead of the grass here!
My barn cat ate 2 rabbits yesterday. Bet she can't move today. We have an awful rabbit problem here, so I'm thankful she is helping keept the population down.
i took the rat trap and a raisin back with me to set it near the strawberry patch while i was planting the last bean garden. within a few minutes of setting the trap a chipmunk had run across the trap and set it off but was not captured. i reset it and within a few minutes heard it go off again. yes, one down, more to go, reset the trap, ten minutes later the 2nd chipmunk was trapped.
moved the trap to a different corner for the rest of the time i was out there but it did not capture anything. it did go off, but i think it was the heat from the sun which expanded it enough to set it off, it's set very sensitive... i'll check it again when i go out to water in a bit and then bring the trap up for the night since i don't want a raccoon running off with it in the night. sometimes i think they take them for decorations...
finished planting inside the fence, tomorrow start the big last garden outside the fence. probably take a few days to get it weeded and planted. working only 4-5hrs in the morning and then i'm done. will be easier than what i've been doing the past few days (beating daylily roots out of mostly clay clumps and planting some beans in there) - in fact i decided to not finish one row near the edge because i was tired of doing that and enough was enough. next year i'll get whatever's left...
