I planted corn! I rarely plant it because DH doesn't really eat it because of the carbs - but I decided to dedicate a little space for it anyway. Might plant some beans around it... Pulled the last of the turnips. Left them in the ground too long in some cases. There were small ones that were rotten and some huge ones that are in great shape and pretty tasty too. I thought the big ones might be all about the yuck factor - but they're good!

I got the fruit tree area dialed in this morning and then moved to the garden.
I weeded and put down wood chips, seeded cilantro, basil, beets, green beans, cucumber. Had some cottage cheese and hummus at 2 . When all was done I lightly watered.
The peas I planted, ? A week ago? Or so sprouted, poked through the dirt.

Worked until 4:30..

I have tried and have not been able to get turnips to make nice roots, I get great tops and thats it. We just dont have enough heat?? of its to wet??? Lord only knows. I do have seed left from last year I didnt do yesterday, but will.
I also still have corn to plant, carrots, parsnips, egg plant, squash.
Maybe after the rest of my 10cup pot and I go get paint, images (1)1.jpg

Got 20x30 area with a first till. Cant go farther wide. Too soggy. Can go a little farther long but would have to narrow. I'll do a second pass this evening.

This is pretty good for this time of year and more than the 10x10 I need to put up the greenhouse to start some plants. It's to even out the temps and reduce the water.

full sun plants and they do need some drainage - in the PWN on the wet side i think you'd need a southern exposure at least and on a slope for better. this past bit has also been really rainy too so for starts that's also going to be a challenge. hmm, also perhaps too much N.
