There are times when it cost me less to raise a dz eggs, like when I cook for them (veggies out of our garden) and when the weather is nice and they can free range more.
Wish we had a place to get cheaper grains,your getting a great deal.

Some ideas.
Ask your local grocery store to give you there outdated greens and produce.
This would cut your expense. Grow more in the garden that you do not have to freeze.
Check with local farmers for their excess.
It is a an ongoing challenge to cut expenses.

None of the stores around here will let me have any scrapes,I have tried.
I do grow extra for the chickens, like summer squash and freeze it,also winter squash, in fact I got a pot of squash and apples with a little rice added cooking for them now.
Yea I agree it is a challenge to cut feed cost, but Iam open to any and all ideas, so thanks so much for the feed back.
