Thank you! Sometimes it is hard to be firm on something like that when the manager is being so gruff like I am the one that did something wrong. The part that gets me is if I was not paying attention it would have rang up for the $49 instead of the $21 and I probably would have never realized it....even though I thought I was only paying $21 for it. It just makes me wonder how many items are mismarked in the store but because people have kids or are distracted that they do not catch the price difference and the store pockets a whole lot of extra $$ because most of the time people only buy the item because it is 'on sale'. My mom said she has caught several things mismarked and the manager would not make good on the item. What ever happened to Walmart's policy that if you buy an item and it is mismarked you get it for that price + $3 more off?? They are getting more and more unfriendly in my area.

yea my walmart says it will match other low prices in the other stores, but get this, they won't match another walmart.

I shopped in Hickory, saw the booster seat for $39....thought, ah, will get it later when I have cash and get it local....couple days later hit my local walmart and it was $49.......I said cheaper in Hickory walmart and they said they can never match their own stores...HMMMM....I was ticked. So when I hit Hickory I a couple weeks later I tried to buy it.....would you believe it was marked up to $49 and they had none.

talk about me seeing stars..LOL

you can't win most of the time!

customer service is a big key with me. If you treat me good you get my money, if not, there is always some other store being nicer, and I shop them..LOL

What are "pasties"? I only ever heard that term used when i worked in a "gentlemans club" years ago in college days.

I just decided to make pasties today. So my money saving is going to be buying the meat and grinding it myself. I am also going to attempt pie crust yet again instead of buying it. I will make at least 25 pasties to make it worth while.
This weekend is going to be freezer weekend. We are going to eat all the odds and ends that we have a tendancy to shove in the freezer cuz it is such a waste to throw it away.

LOL, Pasties are a tradition in our family (as most lived in Michigan at one time) This is a quote from the recipe I use often that is really close to my Grandmas off of recipezaar.com
http://www.recipezaar.com/Copper-Country-Pasties-21455
Pasties are a beef and pork pie with vegtables. They are as common in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan as Big Macs. When the copper mines were booming a century ago, people from all over Europe flocked to our area, and the pasties brought over by the Cornish, quickly caught on. These are time consuming to make, but the end results are worth it! Make a double batch and freeze half! By the way, the "a" is silent in pasty!

thanks for posting the recipe - this is something i am going to try. my sons like the hot pockets and this sounds both healthier and easy to make, cook, cool and freeze.

Healthier probably not with the crust LOL, but no preservatives/additives is the best part. Also since you have never made them I forgot to mention, my family prefers them made with ground round or ground beef (sometimes half ground pork) and also in addition to the rutabaga I add potatoes. Also I do not add extra butter in the slits during the cooking and they stay plenty moist. Serve with a side of ketchup and my kids are in heaven.

enjoy the ride

Location
Really Northern California
So it is a Michigan thing- my Mom would make them for my Dad at times. He remembered them from his childhood in Michigan. The nice thing about them is that they stay warm a long time- if you try them right out of the oven- ouch.
And you have to make them just right- too much liquid and they get soggy and fall apart. Too little and they are dry and unpleasant.

I spent money today.
I did not do well wtih being frugal.
Yes, I got great deals...BUT....I spent alot.
$ 92 at Tractor Supply
$ 45 at Walmart
$245 at Staples

yup, went hog wild....but paid in cash.....when I brought that money out of my "secret space" in the closet I knew I was going to kiss it goodbye.

BUT the $245 was a digital camera !~! So pics will be coming, if I ever, ever, ever, figure the stupid thing out. It is charging now.

So done with spending...no choice cause I have no more available cash on hand. So that took care of that..HA HA

BUT I got my spending out of my blood ya know.....sometimes we go so long being frugal that you must just spend..HA HA....at least I tell myself that! :)
