Hey Anne, you know you can mail-order Vernors if you want it bad enough...

e.g. http://www.beveragesdirect.com/products/vernors/ (I've ordered Blenheims from them in past years and had no problems) or http://www.thevernorsstore.com/ (no personal experience, just found 'em via google)

If you order from beveragesdirect, you might consider treating yourself to a case of Blenheim ginger ale too, unless you don't like a 'spicy' ginger ale.

(e.t.a. and you might like to browse through www.sanderscandy.com to see if they offer your hot fudge by mail)

Bon appetit,

Pat

You may have sensed a theme in a couple of those pictures. That's because of this:

It's the bridal suite at The Gobbler, a now defunct Wisconsin motel that is available for online touring here:

I seem to be revealing my oddness rather consistently these days....

Back to cleaning the kitchen. Sorry for the hijack, I am feeling goofy today.

Is that what bridal suites look like? No wonder so many hubbies grouse about frigid wives...

:pA few things come to mind that I miss.

1. The old Taco flavored Doritos-around here I couldn't find them for years. They have come back, but are doubled with another flavor and I don't think it tastes the same. Not sure if its from the "other" chips or they changed something, either way it's just not the same.

2. SugarTwin-used this in iced tea (no lemon) for years (Ma was diabetic) real sugar and other sweeteners just don't taste the same.

3.Commodity cheese-this is sooooo good and puts any store bought to shame.

4. A candy I don't remember the name or even how to describe it, except it was like a hard puff that literally melted in your mouth. I have seen mint ones (white with red stripes), but I loved the other one. I think it was butterscotch flavor and a golden or yellow/tan/orange-ish color.

That's all I can think of at the moment, since I keep hearing GROWLING-my tummy. :p
