The pulp sells for $5-$7 a pint around here. Perhaps you could make some extra money if you have the time.

Persimmon cookies made with black walnuts are my favorite way of using them.

hey and we have black walnuts too... hum...

so funny story... last nite it rained ALOT and shook a bunch off the tree. so there was this perfectly beautiful rosy persimmon so i thought, hum.. i'll give it a try

ahgghghhahghhghhghgh!!! pucker pucker ick ick ick... i thought they'd be a little sour - NOT draw all the moisture right out of my mouth!

i think i'm a-gonna have to work on this...

You have to wait pretty much until they look like they've gone bad before they aren't astringent (well, with many of the varieties anyways). Its like putting straight alum in your mouth, ain't it? :lol:
