Journey is my horse's name (funny, I always thought I'd name a baby boy that--but the horse came along first!) 11 is the day of my birthday.

I knew what framing fowl's name meant because she PM'd me when I first joined to ask if I knew someone living in my area. I knew how to pronounce SKR8PN, but I thought it meant, just scrappin' by.

I figured freemotion had something to do with her massage therapy - I know when I stiffen up, I'd like some free motion.

kcsunshine - long story....I was, for 28 years, employed by a very large bluejeans manufacturer who's home office is in San Fran. I was for the last 18 of those years an office manager and one of our fun things to do was go different places for meetings. I was (and still am) a fun lovin' gal and unlike some of our more straight-laced women managers, liked to party....
Walking down the streets of San Fran one day with a bunch of the guys, I heard someone say, "Here comes KC and her Sunshine Band." I don't know why all the Managers in the East were wound so tight. I always joined in with the fun group from the West.

SD, for the longest time I read your username savingsdog and I thought she is really really frugal with a dog.
Hah! No, I've wasted lots and lots of money on them! :barnie
Wasting money on dog rescue, is pretty easy thing to do. The last one I saved cost me over 800.00 in vet bills. I managed to recoup 250 of that when we re-homed him to friends of ours, but it was worth EVERY penny and I will do it again in a heartbeat! I just saw his new forever mom last evening and she just adores that dog!!

37lbs of starved and beaten 17 month old Black and Tan coon dog.

It took a LOT to let this little guy go. He just melted our hearts.

Awwww.......Did I say I regret spending money on the dogs? I regret spending money on lots of things, but dog rescue has been one of the most rewarding things that I've ever done. I have belonged to groups who fundraised and I did not have personal expenses from the dogs per se, but the wear/tear/damage/repair on my homes has been astronomical, I would hate to even begin to count how much spent....start with 6,000 for flooring in my last house....but it was a labor of love and an expense that actually benefited something and saved a life, so I'm okay with it.

I live in Murphys CA. The ranch that used to be here was subdivided into a min of 5 acre plots. I think that it used to be about 30 acres or so.

So I live on a ranch - just 4 dogs, 6 chickens, 2 bait ducks and a cat. Fat cat Leah....

Is mine obvious? We used to live up north, near Timmins Ontario. We absolutely LOVED it. then hubby got a job down here in the sucky south.

I wanna go back up north, cuz I miss it!!!

lately, we've been talking about moving back up there. Dh even applied for a job, and we are even considering buying a lodge of sorts with cabins, to cater to hunters/fishermen snowmobilers, etc.

Kind of strange to think of anywhere in Ontario being the south... :gig

Well, look on a map to see where Timmins Ontario is, then look for Chatham Ontario is. We are now 12 hours south of where we used to be.

and yes, if we do buy a lodge, then online acquaintances will be MORE than welcome!!!! And, we will be ating the Nourshing Traditions way. :p

Hubby thinks that I will go into withdrawal after the kids leave th house, I won't ahave anyone to cook and bake for , well, except him, and he knows I love it so much, so, we are dreaming right now.
