Celebrated Canada Day with our annual day out at Heritage Park , a local historical village complete with period (1910) midway rides, working farm, period downtown street and neighborhoods, steam train, steam paddle-wheel boat on the lake, and lots of good old-fashioned fun. Rained a bit, but nothing to disturb our picnic lunch (turkey bacon subs, potato salad, apple pie) or our fun too much!
We just got home from the potluck and fireworks show that dh work put on. They had about 200 kids and people there. They made. Hamburgures and hot dogs and everyone else brought sides and desserts. So I made a turkey roaster pan of baked beans and a gal bucket of cucumbers and onions. None left of either. The fireworks lasted for a solid hour. So now I am soaking up the air.
I made my first batch (never made pickles before..only second time using the WBC also) of dill pickles using my cucumbers, dill weed & grape leaves from the garden..they were a SUCCESS!
Made 2-jar's of dilly bean's again using the green bean's & dill from my garden..SUCCESS!
Made Pesto using the basil & parsley from the garden..I put into a ice cube tray..I will pop them into indivisual bag's once frozen.
Made homemade yogurt that is incubating in the dehydrater.
Getting packed and ready to leave early in the AM for a 5-day convention in Reno, NV. It is a 13-hour drive each way but I'm looking forward to the trip.
Read in my book, took care of my Grandmother, dug some taters for dinner, bought a rabbit hutch, moved the buns to the hutch.....oh and gave a kitten away
