I like the different tastes of colored bells but, I refuse to pay those store prices!🙁. I've bought at the produce auction, aver 25 cent per pepper. Also grow them....more in 2025. They're never on a good sale here. Nope, just those 3 packs -- aver over $1 per pepper! They grow with my green ones just fine 🤷

Chopped & cooking apart this left over Boston butt. I'll have pulled pork in a couple hrs. Seasonings & all. Did another about 4-6 weeks ago. This will finish my BBQ stash for winter👍 I'll pop a couple potatoes in the oven to cook, too. Mashed potato fritters with centers, loaded & cheesy skins with rest. Comfort foods.🥰

I made Red Pepper Soup last night. Wasn't exactly red because I used red, yellow and orange peppers in it. It was yumalicious!

i love peppers of most kinds so that does sound delicious to me too! :) i'm sad that i no longer have any fresh peppers from the garden. now it is all freezer supply and supermarket fare...

i don't find much flavor in the yellow or orange ones compared to the greens (and those which turn red or other colors).

i've really enjoyed finding a milder hot pepper to grow here which does not complain about our garden soils or conditions. very productive pepper for me (Beaver Dam). the flavor is mild compared to green pepper, but very acceptable compared to what i've gotten in the past from Jalapenos. i love roasted red peppers, and after roasting them in the oven to where they just get some black on the edges i hot pack them into jars and put those in the freezer - they keep for a few years at least (i've never not used them up within two years to know exactly when they seem to go off). leave a bit of head space to allow for expansion but otherwise they have enough sugar concentration that i've never had them spoil when kept frozen.

last night was spaghetti and a lone meatball from the freezer. put a bit of grated parmesian on it. very good for a quick meal.

California wonder bells that turn orange if left on the plant are my favorite. They have a nice clean sweet taste, even if there is still some green. We also grow big red, they are thick walled, big and red. They taste sweet also but not as sweet as orange california wonders.
