HEY!! I mixed a jar of home canned red beans with a jar of home canned ham and beans, then added two sliced hot dogs to it. Had some stale tortilla chips, so used those to thicken up the mix. YUMMY!!

p.s. both jars were from 2021, so it was time to use up what I have hoarded.

Been working up "on sale" ground beef, Xtra lean! On sale way less than 80%...so, I have some fresh, packaged in flat 1# and/or pre formed burgers. Saved $2.50 a #. Saved some out for a meatloaf tonight. Haven't made one in a while, nice change.

Should be last of winter meat stock ups.

Working rest of week -- lunches from plan overs.👍

at Grandma's house during the Great Depression she said they ate a lot of potatoes and onions and their butter was bacon grease. i'm sure they ate other things in season because a part of the family did have a farm and garden. i'm also sure my Dad was made to work in the garden at times because he always hated any kind of lawn work or gardening. it wasn't until more recent years that he did some growing in pots where he was at in FL.

last night's dinner was a few bites of cottage cheese and cookies. the vegetable soup turned out well and i'd eaten enough of that earlier in the day so i wasn't super hungry. i'd also had some other snacks during the day and those held me over. hmm, not sure what i'll get into today. not too much. i'm not going outside so don't need that many extra calories...
