chili it is from the freezer for later. at least when i opened the container and sniffed it it smelled like chili. :) no label. we usually have been putting labels on things the past year since we were finding too many things we weren't quite sure what they were in there. all good, we just didn't know what. for some reason no label on this chili, but i know it isn't Mom chili because it has some color to it so it is my chili.

We had chilli (with beans) and cornbread last night 😋. I know... chilli with beans is a cardinal sin for Texans but it's OK... I asked Almighty for forgiveness.

Uh....not the way I make it, lol!

same here!

also, the stuff i consider real chili has no tomato anything in it, no beans, no green peppers, no red peppers, just chili peppers, garlic, meat if you want, water. the heat level is dependent upon what kind of chili peppers you use. dried or fresh. roasted, smoked, etc. all variations. all good as far as i'm concerned, but i also make what i consider tex-mex which is more like a stew of various vegetables, meats, beans, tomatoes and chili of several kinds.

it just happened that this batch of chili had both ground chuck and beef stew meat used in it and all the other things we'd normally do for a tex-mex. it's delicious. :)
