What's your favorite hand "tool"?

All great coupons, except those microfiber rags....HATE the way they feel and the way they clean. They make my fingernails want to crawl off my hands.

Agree and don't get any wood chips on them. The chips will be stuck to the rag for good. See what I mean? Good for nothing but the landfill now... Horray for free made in China garbage

I've got several narrow-kerf saws, a couple of them that are smaller than the one I pictured (incl one that has replaceable blades). So, thanks, but I've got a an alternative idea: please send it as a gift to that DIYer & fine person, Beekissed.

Awwwww, to quote my 3 yr old grandgirl, you are so "fweet"!!!

But, don't send me a saw...I needed an excuse to go to Harbor Freight anyway, haven't been for awhile. Wasn't too pleased with the last thing we got there~a crank unloader for the truck~but am willing to give them a shot again. They were real good about taking it back.

New project for which the saw would come in handy...building a bed frame in which I'm using 4x4s which will be notched for a good fit...the saw would help in the notching.

We love the plain white, terry cloth shop rags you can buy in a bundle...we use those for years before they wear out, just the right size and they have the proper roughness of texture for good cleaning. Cheap too.

Those flashlights suck. They are only around 70 lumens. I can literally see better without them messing up my night vision.

Mom used to buy lots of them until we got her an 800 lumen one from Costco.

This is the sort of thread that tempts me. Trouble is, I can be deeply thankful at any particular moment (or work session) that someone designed this or that hand tool... but it's "the tool of the hour" if you know what I mean. Whatever it may be, it just does an essential job that I need to be doing at that time.

Cases in point... These have each often been my favorite of the moment. Left to right, hand-grip scissors (save fatigue and finger chafing), Japanese-style fine-cutting saw (cuts on the pull stroke), adjustable open-end ("crescent") wrench, Stillson pipe wrench, Picquic screwdriver (has 7 of the most common tips, which are hex-shanked and can be fit into an electric drill or electric screwdriver).

Man I really like my Japanese-style saws. Don't know if you have a harbor Freight around your area or not but this saw is one of the HF Gems - sharp as a pack of razors and great for close tolerance wood working.

A Japanese style cut saw???? OMG!! I HAVE to have this! There is a Harbor Freight store in Tyler, I love that place. Heck, for the price I could get two! I never knew about this type saw. Gotta have it.

My favorite hand tool? That is a hard question. I'm like @Joel_BC on that question, it depends on what I am doing at the time.

One of my favorites is a bow saw. I had two, one belonged to my Daddy, I treasure it. I gave the other one to a neighbor, then because I only had one, I had to get another one. It's a pretty green one from HF and it came with 2 extra blades.

I like to keep hand tools, there may come a time when the fancy-dangled electric ones won't work.....

I'd have to say my (husband's) rechargeable drill is my favorite. It's very lightweight, and I use it all the time as a drill and also as a screwdriver, and to cut holes in things (like ventilation holes in the chicken houses.) I use it more than any other tool that we have.
