Where are all the lids???

I've been reusing lids for years. I pick through and make sure the lids aren't bent, the rubber part is not compressed real flat... put them in a pan and simmer for a bit.... yeah, keep them hot and sterile for using but I like to have them simmer a bit as it seems to plump up the rubber edge a bit.
I like the tattlers and I still use the old glass bail top jars too. Jar rubbers can be found and they also can be reused to some extent. If one or two don't seal, you get a new lid or jar rubber and redo with the next batch or just chill and eat.

I have some Tattlers - only used them once and unfortunately had a few fails. I'll use them again if needed, but I'm holding them as a last resort.

Jars with lids are relatively same prices by, lids are like 2-3 times more than before.

i've not seen that happen here yet, but we've also not seen many lids still either.

They had regular lids and rings at one store here last time I was in. $5.99 which is normal price. That store also has pints, half pints, and quarter pints in. So it's looking up.

I picked up some lids today for $3.16 for large mouth. Also got the box holder they came in since there were only 5 boxes. I was needing a large mouth box.

I ordered lids from Amazon, plus they are appearing every once in awhile in the stores. I’m good for this year, but let my squirrel DNA run wild on stocking up on canning supplies. LOL

My Mom and I are grabbing everything we can before people go ape$hi// and freak out on the canning supplies again. We snagged a whole box of wide mouth lids and are going to grab regular mouth jars and lids when we find them. Chinamart had 4 boxes regular mouth pint jars and quart jars and one box of wide mouth pint jars. I bought all the pint jars and 3 boxes of quart jars. They had 6 or 8 more boxed of quart but didnt have the room in the cart.

I saw quarts and half gallons last night at the store.

Still no boxes of just lids.
