I am buying grass fed beef from a lady in Virginia and meeting her in PA this week for pickup. I won't eat supermarket meat and so I spend most of my time eating rice, beans, and cheese. It will be good to have some hormone free, antibiotic free, cruelty free meat.

I am fortunate that I live in a small city north of San Francisco. Our community is very diverse and we have many small ethnic stores and restaurants. Even many of the local non-chain supermarkets are loaded with ethnic foods. Some may specialize in certain types of food, such as Asian or Italian. And then we can always go to San Francisco and find just about anything we might be craving. I do that, when I am visiting my brother who lives south of SF. Or if we decide to go the the zoo or a museum or some other activity in SF.

I also have friends who think of me, when they come across a special something and bring some back for me. I do the same for them. Many of us have figured out how to make those special yummies ourselves.

I have to wait until I get to visit my old hometown to find a decent Mexican restuarant.... :( This is only about 2 times a year now. Imagine doing without good Mexican food for that long????? :hit

It's really their salsa and chips that I crave so much....very unique in flavor and as much as you can eat for free with meal purchase!

I absolutely love spring rolls... but only from the Sussex farmer's market around the corner from where I work... It's open every friday from May-Nov., and there is a lovely Thai lady who makes Pad Thai and Spring Rolls (with baby shrimp and spicy peppers in them)... It's my lunch every friday :)

I was just saying the other day how excited I am for the market to open up again. You really miss all the people there when you can't go for half the year :)
Om nom Pad Thai....
I love pad thai and spring rolls so much I learned to make my own! :drool YUM!!!
