Who knows of the right way to FREEZE Apple Pie Filling

I have been given a bushel of apple and I need to know how to freeze pie filling. I saw Alton Brown do it and I think he filled up a pie plate and froze it and then put the pie "disk" into freezer bags. Does anyone have a better way. Thanks

I would freeze it just like I freeze anything else. I would separate however much is called for in a typical pie, place it in the appropriate freezer bag, freeze it flat so it can be stacked easily! Thaw out per usual to place into pie shell.
