Have seen several in the last few days and all are at least 1/2 brown bands around the middle....yet it seems that the feelings are that we will have a hard winter since the last couple have been basically snowless.... a couple of 4 inch snows that only lasted a day or two and then melted.

Yep -- VA gets a hard hit every few years and it hasn't happened for a while...anticipation. And since everything else has been screwed up this year, why not winter??

Baymule, I have noticed that people in the Houston area freak out when it rains. They treat it like snow. :ep
The streets flood if you spit in them. I can remember swimming in the street when I was a kid. Probably not the smart thing to do, with all the city nasties in the water, but I didn’t know any better then.

The critter was in the middle of the chicken run so I snapped a picture while moving it. They chickens don't eat them, but might trample it.

It looks like a tiny pokeball.

That picture @Hinotori is about how ours are looking... looks to be about 1/2 and 1/2. Haven't seen alot, but after this rain passes through, supposed to be a couple of arm days and that is when they are out....
