2dreams - Its Spring In Mississippi w/pallet bed pic

Wow 2Dream, you and are having the same frustrations today! :hugs There is hope out there though. There are people, like those on this forum, who are raising their kids right, putting those priorities in order, and teaching about manners and common courtesy (sp??) I do kind of think it would...

Dace - Thank you for this thread. I don't know much about gardening, this is my first year getting anything to grow . .. I have learned allot from the links you added, thank you. So, we got peas, but since we are over 100 already (whew it's hot) my peas are now gone. However, (big excitement...

Do you wear gloves when working in the garden?

I don't, we have all of those spiders, too. I try to wear gloves, but hate my hands to sweat and I can't "feel" what I am doing. I get frustrated and pull them off. I guess I like the feel of the dirt. I am very new to gardening, though. Maybe once the newness of the feel of the dirt wears...

HennyPenny's random thoughts. New set of goals!

Most places by property management companies here do not allow much as far as pets go, but places that are offered for rental in the paper, when I called and asked most of them were willing to allow pets, even chickens and other farm animals. I will say that most of those were outside of city...

    Adventures of OkieAnnie's "homestead"

Thank you for the warm welcomes. Unfortunately we have no leash law in our county. The animal control represenative that my husband spoke with did say that we can do what ever we feel we need to in order to protect our property when the dog is on our property. So, I am thinking my husband and...

    Recycling toilet paper tubes

I started most of my seeds in toilet paper rolls this year. When they were ready to plant, I just opened the bottom I had folded up and planted them so the roots could grow out. It worked well with my corn. I think I will use them to make Christmas crackers this year for my kids and nephews.

    The last little bits?

We save little bits of left overs from dinner and freeze them for a lunch later, that is a rarity as I have 1 teen boy and another nearly there, but we add water to empty ketchup, shake it up to get the rest all mixed in, refridgerate it and add it to our next batch of chilli, soup or pasta...

How Did You Get to Today?

lonelilly wrote: So, (how) have you turned your dreams into reality? If you live in the country, are you self-employed or do you commute? Does your day job speak to who you are outside of work hours? Give me words, your advice, your stories... I feel so claustrophobic in this city sometimes...
