Oh me me! I'm putting up a new shed TOR, chicken & rabbit food, supply, etc. Seeing as that's all I have at home, the horses have their own shed at the barn that isn't interesting to anyone here.
Me me me!! I hope you don't mind *another* chicken person, but I have a lot of useful info! Because well, I'm the one with the (rare) chicken vet lol!
I've also ridden horses for...16 years.
Rofl, omg if these people knew how their "clean" chickens/cows were kept, they'd be running to our doors!! I kiss my chickens, bury my face in their necks, touch their feet or tails. I'd sanitize myself after I so much as stepped inside a factory farm door!
I did, nummy to the sour cherry duck!!
I'm already planning pulled chicken pita sandwhiches w/ a dressing of hummus & chopped tomatoes. Mmm, pulled chicken quesadillas with tons of salsa and avocado!
You *MUST* tell me your secret!
The lab vacuums up my hubbys house rabbits poo too. She doesn't know how to use a litter box, but good thing we have the lab-vacuum.
Kev, Moolie was basically saying its nothing to be overly concerned about. Sorry, but we deal with this everyday.
As for me, I'm a die hard beach baby, will continue my beaching!
OMG lol! So my coworker wanted a doz eggs, so I sold her some. She is a very clean person, always changing clothes if she gets a dirt spec on them. So I hand her my "cleanest" dozen and tell her they look gross, but DON'T wash them until you eat them. She hasn't asked for another dozen since...
Awww! I see no harm in pacifier until she gets her teeth & starts walking, which IME happen around the same time. There was a 3 year old in the store the other day TALKING with her pacifier in, that unacceptable.
But Katherine is only a month old, she still needs her soothing stuff :)
Nice hutch!
You feed them tons of hay basically, and a cup (or less)of pellets a day. No alfalfa or very little, that leads to too much calcium and then uterine stones.
Oh how cool!! Do you still have the link to the blog? (Btw, need to message you, off to chicken vet to chat with her.)
I know there are flocks in the US, but were too "industrialized" and people don't venture too far out and look for chickens lol. Bam's flock lived hours into the backwoods.
Chickens live wild in other countries LOL.
A hen like my last polish, I don't know if they could live wild. My dog was the end of her, and she was always the targets of hens and dogs.
Hens likemy brahmas, barred rocks, your RIRs, much more likelyto survive on their own. Brahmas are cold weather...
