I know that no one has posted here in a couple weeks, but I must add....... my oldest daughter had several warts that we could not get rid of, no matter what we tried. We have tried just about everything mentioned in these post. We even went to the Dr. and he tried the freezing, didn't work, he...
I used to work for a woman that had a cleaning business when I was in Alaska (about 15 years ago). She charged $8 for a small room, $16 for a small room and if the person wanted deep clening sone the price was doubled.
Then there were seperate costs for carpet cleaning and wood floor cleaning...
I went to Kroger today and bought 2 turkeys. One was 26.49 pounds and the other was 27.09 pounds and each of the turkeys was $12.00. I am going to go back and get 2 more for canning.
To me that is not a bad price for a turkey of that weight. Anyways, it saved about $3 to $4 per turkey.
Did I...
For $200 I would buy it and then set it up in the yard the way you would like it to be in a building and then measure around it. This way you would know how much room you would need.
Not sure why I can't find deals like that :/
O.K. I have sat here for more than 30 minutes reading each individual post and I am so glad to hear that there are still some of us who still appreciate the simple things. I am also glad to hear how you are trying your best to live by your means and not your wallet. Here is what we do here in...
I just love homemade bread. I like it most when it comes out of the oven and i cut it with an electric knife, works great for me, and then smear butter all over it. Yummy!! Now you have me wanting to make bread. :)
You all sound just like me. We all need to get together once a year and have a big meeting. :D
For my B-day, Mothers day,& anni. my hubby and kids built me a chicken coop. I am so not into the rings and fancy smancy stuff.
I'll prefer a good shovel over an expensive pair of diamond ear rings...
Got about 15 pounds of carrots and we will be cleaning them today and canning them tomorrow. I just love the taste of fresh canned carrots in a big pot of soup or casserole.
Just remember..... Christmas is close at hand and these thrift stores hold a lot of potential for Christmas shopping. Who says a gift has to be new?? :) (except for undies like miss puff said)
I am ready for some shopping at some thrift stores NOW!!! but I don't have any money :(
Got this in an e-mail today and thought I would pass it on to you all. It's about those little baby carrots that we buy for convience. I always wondered what that white stuff is that comes up on them. Now I know.

My Ball Canning book states for Hot Pack ~~ that if the bone is taken out it is processed 1 hr. 30 min. and if the bone is left in it is processed 1 hr. 15 min. both at 10 lbs. pressure.
Usually I just can the breast~deboned and no skin. i cut it in pieces, cook it till the broth is hot and then put it int he jars.
But this time will be different. I am gonna put the whole chicken in the jar, minus the skin. I was told to leave the bone in for flavoring.
