that's a pretty big question
my entire life I said I would have no kids,
and of course I hung around like minded folks, ( so as to not leave that path)
(yet I recall when I was about 10 my dad so mad that I had said I wouldn't have kids, he in his frustration said "well who the hell's gonna...
well, I didn't realize it had to be stored in the refrigerator before it was even opened,
this organic tart cherry juice was found in my cabinet, plastic looking jug was bulging,
is it just changing into wine or vinegar, or should I toss because it may be some sort of poison?
thanks for the...
we could tell because it was not frozen like the rest,
they then claimed that the freezer broke, but that's funny the rest of the meat didn't thaw
and not to mention just in transit, the paper of frozen meat got dewy wet, but the meat that was fresh, it's paper never felt wet, just cool and...
we got the liver, I asked for bones, and suet, and they tried to charge me for using space in the freezer...(50 cents a pound)
needless to say we wont be going back there (it's a shame to as it is an old business that used to have a great reputation)
but now I am trying to figure out if I...
oh dear, one more variable,
I drove over this time in a friends car, car was dirty, maybe lid wasn't on tight during the drive, (we had the air on cause it was a hot day)
do you suppose I could have gotten dirty (the bucket) in the car, ?
I remember the farmer beginning to fill and giving me...
oh I get milk from several sources, this one I have been going to for a while now, and have been happy with, he loves his cows, he feeds them well, does everything very natural (no hormones and such)
well, this last batch when I was ladeling from my big 5 gallon bucket into my glass jars had...
we just got our beef back from being processed, and well it turns out they tried to cover a mistake by just giving us "other ground beef in place of our grass fed ground beef,
they claim the cooler broke and all the ground beef thawed, but everything else was still hard frozen even though we...
you see, it doesn't smell bad really, like bad bad bad,
but it doesn't smell buttery good, it just smells more like cheese,(not stinky blue cheese just cheese, ) or old socks or feet, sort of ripe and old, not rancid....it's had a lid on it this whole time,
but I am thinking cause the color...
I've got homemade buttermilk from raw milk that must be two maybe three weeks old,
it has seperated,
now when I make more I use a little of the old to make a new batch and it seems like any buttermilk over 2 weeks old doesn't produce buttermilk for me again
anyhow Ive got almost a half gallon...
ok so last fall we used a low powered electric power washer to wash the deck
the neighbor who wanted to make some money off of us tried to tell us that was no good, and we must use a high powered one to clean the deck...you know the one's that seem to tear up the wood
ok we can power wash...
certainly all of mankind did not power wash the deck then seal it?
or did they,lol
I have a treated lumber deck that I think I ought to seal just to help the wood last longer, (I am thinking that if the water doesn't soak in that would help the wood?)
anyhow I am bout to do my every few years...
well now that I soak my grains or flakes, I want more flakes cause they taste so much better than before, (and now don't hurt my tummy) and are very filling, and cheap for breakfast
I use flakes for oatmeal and such
meat loaf
and add them to breads also
I have rye and wheat that I intend to...
boy I know what you mean about pricey
I would have never thought I would be buying this sort of stuff myself,
but poor health has brought me to whole fresh grains that I soak
(most people of european decent have a tough time digesting grain, most lack an enzime that other cultures have that...
anyone have one?
it occurs to me that I might use it a lot, (especially now that I have discovered the joys of soaking grain....)
anyhow,
I am looking at possibly getting one to atttach to my kitchenaid,
but would prefer a hand crank model,
can anyone boast about theres
what I thought would...
lot's of good advice here already
just wanted to add that I am learning to cook in bulk/quantity
either double or triple recipies so that you can freeze the rest or serve left overs for a few meals
and sometimes I just cook several things at once, like hearty soup, while I bake a chicken...
actually I have been using it for a long time (years) and love it (there was a transition period of taking three or four washings for my hair and oils to sort of adjust...then when my hair was clean...it felt soooo clean, and dried very fast
it's diluted with water, haven't noticed any damage...
what is concerning to me is (as we have seen played out in history time and time again,) that cultures who continually elevate the rights, or value of certain creatures, often forget about or neglect to pay attention to human dignity, at least over time they do...
the concern is( yes we have a...
