March 10, no wind. Low winds predicted at 3 MPH for 2 days. I lit burn piles. They lied.

The wind came up, blew embers and the grass fire merrily caught and outran me. I had company over, she and I battled the flames, a neighbor came over and helped. From no wind to blowing a gale, it sure made me feel stupid. It had rained, standing water in the field, but dry grass on top. Oh well.

My friend had a blast. They are from Miami, been Texas a year and love it here. What an adventure! She is now a firefighter!

We got the fire out, had some lemonade on the front porch and laughed at ourselves.

Now the burned areas are green with new grass. The piles are semi burned, but big logs are still there. Maybe some day…

While running the canner yesterday, nibbled away at the garage clutter. Saturday, took a carload of cardboard to the township recycling drop off.

Yesterday, moved my son's refrigerator and his totes to a single spot tucked in one corner. Did a little reorganization to facilitate more sifting through. We can actually access the man door now. Need to figure out what to do with the 3 big pieces of carpet from the install. I wonder if Habitat would accept it?

Went through several totes of my stuff, convinced the wife to come out and go through two boxes herself. Two bags of trash out of the garage.
