ARGH!!!! Somebody else go first, lol!

i resolve to make no other resolutions besides this one.

my things to do list can change quite a bit but my overall goals and tasks are not changing that much.

i'm happy, doing well enough and that is all about i can hope for.

2024 was not as unproductive as I feared it would be.

- Did get more inside painting completed
- garden was okay
- made some progress on the clutter
- mental state good

For 2025:
1. start on landscaping in the front of the house
2. enable car to be stored in the garage
3. get the extra weight off
4. get my wife healthy again
5. spent more time for "me"
6. get back in the canning groove (bulk of stuff is 2 years old now)

List is not very specific or with a timeline. I think it put too much pressure on me.

DH is planning to retire in 2027 when he turns 60. Then we hope to move to a more rural property. To that end, our 2024 goal was to clean out the basement by working on it for at least one hour every weekend throughout the winter. We stuck to that and made real progress, but there was still a lot left to do in the spring. We thought about continuing our momentum and going all summer. That did NOT happen, lol.

So come January we will get back to doing it on winter weekends.

Our other goal was to clean out my giant pile of chicken keeping supplies so that I could fit my car in the garage. We did that in November, yay! (Except it’s not convenient for me to park my car in the garage. I still prefer to use the space for various other things every day when I’m doing my outside work, without having to back my car out of the way.)

Our goal timeline looked something like this:

2024: Basement and garage, chicken breeding goals.
2025: outdoor weeds and landscaping problems; remaining chicken breeding goals
2026: Finish chicken goals and downsize to only the chickens I would take to the next place; get house ready for market
2027: Find new place, move all poultry over and remove any sign that poultry was ever on this property. (My main coop in the backyard was designed to be converted into an amazing she shed once I move the chickens out.); put house on market.
2028: Probably still getting through the 2027 goals, but house should sell and final move ought to occur.

The part of the basement that’s not done should be doable in 2025. All the other “resolutions” are broad enough that at least parts of each thing will be successful each year.
